Founder Story
Mihira Wickramarachchi is a name synonymous with innovation in Sri Lanka’s healthcare landscape. From the very beginning, he saw what others could not. He imagined a future where the most advanced optical, auditory, and medical technologies would be within reach of every Sri Lankan. His pioneering spirit brought breakthroughs such as cochlear implants, cutting-edge eyewear, and world-class medical equipment to the nation, transforming the way people see, hear, and live.
He is also the pioneer of audiology in Sri Lanka. At a time when not even a single audiometer was available in the country, Mihira introduced the technology, laid the foundations for hearing care, and worked closely with the ENT profession to build the field of audiology from the ground up. Today, the industry he helped create continues to grow and serve thousands.
Yet Mihira’s story is more than one of technology. It is a story of passion and compassion. Guided by a deep belief that healthcare should be accessible to all, he built not just businesses but lifelines. These include nationwide optical and hearing clinics as well as the WISH Foundation, which provides education and care to underserved communities.
As a leader, Mihira is both bold and caring. He challenges norms while never losing sight of the human impact behind every innovation. His journey stands as an inspiration to entrepreneurs, professionals, and families alike. He proves that one individual’s vision, when driven by purpose and heart, can change an entire nation.
